Synopsis
The story behind the film The Land of the Enlightened is at least as fascinating as the film itself. The film was filmed in the chaotic, dangerous and unpredictable warzone of Afghanistan. During the seven year period of filming, the director and his crew were confronted with army protocols, Taliban fighters, increasingly exceeding budgets, cultural and linguistic barriers. The Last Omelette proves it takes not only craftsmanship to make a film, but also a great deal of perseverance and flexibility.
